Baby shower cupcakes

Jul

I am slowly catching up  on my posts. It’s been a long past few weeks. I have been busy baking, and making the cutest cupcake toppers for my numerous orders these past few weeks. I had to decline lots of orders due to the lack of time. I am so sorry if you were one of the order I had to decline. For future info, now you know to order in advance so I have more time to make your designs for your special event. I appreciate all the support and patience you have given me!

Here’s a quick peek at some baby shower cupcake toppers I made for a baby girl shower. I had some new designs for my background which I used for these toppers. I love how the plaid came through the background. It added a classic and clean look to the design for sure. I cannot wait to get some more of these texture mats :)

Thanks Jessica for the order. Wishing you lots of luck for your upcoming delivery.

Sweet daisies Danica is turning 6!

Jun

The daisies are back! Summer is here and flowers are blooming even more.

Danica, this sweet little girl is turning 6! Her mom Liezel, ordered some cupcakes with magenta daisies, a 6″ cake with more daisies to match the cupcakes, and of course, a cupcakes tower to display them. Danica also has her own banner made especially for her by the ever beautiful and sweet Eva from the Wedding Pantry, who has now an Etsy store.

Liezel, originally wanted a vinyl banner because she saw it on one of my picture post. The time restrictions and budget did not allow it, so I came up with the banner option, which is a great alternative to the vinyl banner. Eva was able to make is at light speed and deliver it to me on time for Liezel.

Thanks Liezel for the order. Wishing Danica a wonderful birthday party. Have a great summer.

Sneak peek at some pictures I took, but I am hoping more pictures will be coming from Liezel :)

Danica and her mom Liezel. Happy Birthday Danica!

Finishing up with Black Belt!

Jun
No Comments   Posted by sylvie |  Category:Uncategorized

Even though we have two boys, we never wanted them to do karate on some sort. Somehow, we thought they would not be using the moves for proper reasons, and we decided not to enroll them in karate when they were young.

I know it seems harsh and difficult to understand, but I suppose every child is different, and at the time, our boys were a bit more active than we wished, so we skipped on the karate. We’ve heard lots of positive feedback for this activity, but never were interested in pursuing it further. I have no regrets but just needed to explain our decision to our boys every now and often.

With that said, I had this loyal customer who’s son was graduating from karate and getting his black belt. At the same time, the family is moving back to India for a few years. Thank you Deepali for the order. Wishing you a safe trip back to India, and hoping to see you in a few years.

Check out the black belts I put on the cupcakes. Originally, I wanted to do it with a kimono, but I felt it was too overwhelming with the space allowed, and the white frosting against the white kimono would have not contrasted very well.

Check out the pictures I snapped!

Little Francesca is turning One!

Jun

Cupcakes for First Birthday have been quite the latest trend the last few months. I do not doubt a second why they are so popular. For one, they are easy to serve, no plates or forks needed. For two, each guest can sometimes have its own decorated cupcakes. For three, they appear casual, yet fancy and cute enough to serve :)

Francesca was turning One over this past weekend. JC, Francesca’s mom, has been emailing me about possible cupcakes order for her birthday with the stitches designs on the cupcakes, and 6′ cake topper with her name on it.

I always somehow look forward to do girlie cupcakes, just because I don’t seem to get enough of those orders, or do I?!

Please check out some pictures of the cupcakes. Thank you JC for the order. Happy Birthday to cute Francesca!

Sienna, my beautiful niece turned 16!

Jun

As some of you probably already know, Sienna is one of my beautiful niece. She turned 16 a few weeks ago, and we finally celebrated her 16th birthday in Balboa, by the Balboa Pier. Just a breezy beautiful day at the beach with her friends and family.

We headed, my boys and I to attend her party. Just a relaxing day at the beach, playing sand castle, eating Spanish rice and grilled chicken, some salsa  and chips to top it off, and going back for some boogie boards fun, catching some Southern California waves.

Baked some cupcakes for her, and a beautiful 6″ cake for her to blow candles. The wind was not in our favor, but Sienna managed to pretend to blow for the paparazzi!! :)

Here are a few snapshots of the day. My older niece and her father will be forwarding me some more soon…I hope :)

We love you Sienna!

Let’s go bowling and celebrate with some bowling cupcakes!

Jun

Bowling fun! I used to have bowling birthday parties for my boys in their younger days. We had so much fun. Of course, back then, I did not bake any cupcakes, so I used to order Baskin Robbins ice cream cake to celebrate their birthdays. Might I say, it is still their favorite choice, next to the Mrs. Fields cookie cake! I suppose they’ve seen and ate my cupcakes one too many times, and don’t want to have them anymore at their parties. Say what?! it’s okay, I understand! :)

As my boys got older, the birthday theme parties slowly disappeared, and it became just a get together with family and friends, with not so much of the outrageous theme I used to host! You name it, I did that theme…no joke!

Anyway, Sarah, the same customer who ordered the Graduation cupcakes in one of my previous post, ordered these cupcakes for her daughter’s Bowling party birthday. She was so excited to see them. I am so glad I was able to be part of her daughter’s birthday party. She ordered the Smore’s, Chocolate oreo, and vanilla cupcakes. As per Sarah’s feedback on the cupcakes, she said the Smore’s disappeared in one minute tops! Hahaha!

Thanks Sarah for everything! Always a pleasure seeing you. Have a great summer!
